The Evidence

Here are the results of my Liver and Gall Bladder Cleanse this weekend!
The one penny piece (bottom right) gives an indication of the size of the stones.  Not massive but certainly enough to congest bile ducts in the liver and gall bladder.  The darker green stones are older and the lighter more recent stones.  Lots of tiny gravel like ones which block the ducts really easily.
I am feeling tip top today.  Ate really lightly yesterday afternoon and evening.  Taking a heaped teaspoon of Glutamine powder in a glass of water before bed.  This helps restore and rejuvenate the gut after all that cleansing and is or should be recommended in any detox programme. I also charged up on the probiotics to replace friendly bacteria.  Metagenics Ultra Probioplex is a pretty good one which is a 50:50 blend of Lactobacillus acidophilus and Bifidobacterium lactis.  (keep probiotics refrigerated).
Back to normal this morning (Sunday).  Had a light breakfast before a very indulgent lunch with friends which consisted of the best Roast Beef and Yorkshire Pud, plenty of great veg and to finish a Sticky Toffee pudding that I just couldn't bare to share with my husband and I insisted he order his own.
My mood had been horrendous over this week of preparation and purging....  I am a total foodie at heart but I do encourage anyone out there who is wanting to get their system functioning optimally again that this is a good start.  It too makes you conscious of what you are eating.  Even though the Sticky Toffee pud could have been omitted!  I'm only human and I think its worse to deprive yourself of a reward most truly deserved!

What followed..... Saturday morning.... the results of the Liver Cleanse

So the Epsom Salt mix divided into four servings was not as bad as I imagined it would be.... however the 4th serving was a struggle and I had to roll a Butterscotch boiled sweet around my mouth afterwards to stop me from retching!  There have got to be some rewards even though I had to spit it out to avoid a complete sugar rush  interfering with my efforts thus far!
I had no bowel movements after the first 2 servings.
Just before 10pm I squeezed my fresh ruby grapefruits and put the juice in the blender with the half cup olive oil.... this is definitely the way to go.  I was pleasantly surprised by how pleasant this 'mocktail' actually was!
I downed it in one go and climbed straight into bed as instructed by the book.  I eventually drifted off to sleep but awoke several times in the night eyes wide open feeling headache and nausea but not a severe as I expected.  No movements through the night apart from me being restless in bed trying to find my comfort.
On awakening I had a movement and to my huge disappointment - NO STONES!!!!
Drank third serving of Salts and went back to bed.... another movement - NO STONES!!!
Another movement.... NO STONES!!!! Another.... ONE STONE!  Another.... the start of some very small stones pea size and smaller like gravel.  Very bright green in colour which tells me from the book that these are new stones.  I drink the fourth serving of salts and 10 minutes later expel some BIGGER STONES.  Probably the size of my thumb nail same colour as previous ones.
In order to catch the stones I am evacuating into a metal colander placed under the toilet seat to catch these stones for 'inspection'!  This is not for the faint hearted but instantly gratifying!  I did expect bigger and more abundant stones but I can assure you there are plenty of gravel-like tiny stones.  There are also suggestions in the book to achieve a more effective cleanse the next time.  For example drinking Chinese Bitters 3 weeks prior to cleanse or freshly squeezed lemon juice on its own on waking for a week prior.
Ensure this is done over a very quiet week end so you are totally home bound and can relax and feel the benefits of this rejuvenating cleanse.  At present I feel weak and tired from a disturbed nights sleep and of course no food since yesterday (Friday) morning.  I hugely regret not having that lunch yesterday but certainly look forward to some freshly pressed grapefruit juice around midday today, followed by plenty of Coconut Water which is full of electrolytes that need replacing after the purge.  Then I have a lentil and steamed rice late lunch and poached salmon and vegetable dinner on the menu.  Tomorrow its pretty much back to normal re-introducing things slowly but I think I am certainly going to continue the avoidance of wheat and dairy.  Coming into Hayfever season soon, this would be a good thing for anyone who suffers as these 2 culprits really aggravate symptoms.
Doves Farm Organic wheat and gluten free pasta is a very pleasant alternative to regular wheat and gluten laden pasta.  Gluten sticks to the intestinal wall and prevents nutrients being absorbed.  It is usually one of the chief suspects where food allergies are concerned.
Watch this space.... I will post pics of the resulting stones that my liver and gallbladder continue to expel throughout today.

D Day!

Friday it is... the grand purge!  Been very good all week with my juicing and no animal protein or fats.
Also decided to have awheat and gluten free week whilst I'm at it!
Had a hearty breakfast of gluten free oat and quinoa porridge with Oat milk.  You can eat a light lunch of Steamed Basmati rice and veg but at this time I was having a professional colon cleanse which is strongly advised before the flush.
Its 45 min until I drink my first Epsom Salt 'cocktail'!
For anyone wanting to embark on this Miracle Cleanse, my best advice would be to fully read the Liver and Gall Bladder Miracle Cleanse book by Andreas Moritz first.  There are lots of methods on the internet which may not fully explain the necessity of doing or avoiding certain things.  This man pretty much covers everything!  He also makes it clear that pretty much all of us have gall stones which affect us functioning optimally.
Keep you posted!

My intro to the world of bloggin!

Well here it finally is... my blog.  I am a total novice so please forgive the amateur nature of this.  I will learn!
I think this is a good opportunity to keep people informed about alternative health movements that can not only enhance your physical health but your mental and spiritual well-being too.  My first endeavour is the Miracle Liver and Gall Bladder Cleanse.  I started with the apple juice fast on Saturday and I continue with it this week until I do the 'grand' purge on Friday pm/Sat am!!  One can eat whilst doing this but is to abstain from any animal protein and fried or greasy foods.  I have gone with lightly steamed vegetables, lentil pasta sauce, ect.  Breakfasts have consisted of lots of apple juice first thing and then Oats with Soya joghurt and raspberries, or toasted rye bread with Tahini (sesame seed spread).
Made a great Lentil pasta sauce last night that consisted of carrots, red peppers, red onion, garlic, tinned tomatoes and red lentils.  This was scrummy on wheat and gluten free pasta.  Will post full recipe at some point.
Its half term and I have my 3 year old at home with a friend.  They are dressed up as princesses and are awaiting their lentil pasta lunch!!!  Its certainly a substantial recipe fit for even a princess (or two)!!
